The painful side of copywriting no one talks about

PSA:

Copywriting is a business.

And many times, business f*cking sucks.

It’s stressful.

It’s emotionally painful.

It’s anxiety-inducing.

And you have to deal with rejection…

…failure…

…mistakes…

…wasted time…

…wasted money…

…people screwing you over…

…things not going to plan…

…limiting beliefs holding you back…

…plus a whole host of other non-sexy things.

Things that are conveniently left out of the sales pages, VSLs, and emails from the people in this industry selling some hyped-up “make 6-figures ASAP!” — or worse, “work 1 hour per day and put your feet up as the royalties roll in!” course.

I feel sorry for copywriters who get sucked into that fantasy world.

Some are so far gone that they SPURN anyone who suggests they need to put in the reps to ‘make it’ in this game.

Like the people who cry…

“That’s too much work!”

…when they hear about MY approach to landing retainers…

…despite their empty bank account and a skill level akin to a newbie who read the Boron Letters and now thinks he knows everything.

Anyway…

This has all been a long-winded setup for a HUGE Flaming Camel win I wanted to share with you.

1. The right strategy

3. A drive to put that strategy into action

(*cough*)

What? I actually had something stuck in my throat that time…
