What A-listers see… that you don’t
Ever look at a successful ad and think to yourself:
“What made this work?”
Sure, at the intermediate level…
You can spot many of the persuasive strategies and tactics.
But what about the subtleties… the ‘between the lines’ ideas that REALLY make winning ads, well, winning?
This is where many good copywriters trip up.
9 times out of 10…
They miss the SMALLER details…
Meaning they miss opportunities to make their OWN copy far better.
Why?
Because once you develop a solid level of skill…
The highest leverage thing that’ll take you from ‘good’ to ‘great’ is a deeper understanding of the NUANCES.
Many A-listers have drilled this ^^^ into me over the years.
(I’m a work in progress btw… there are many nuances I often miss, too!)
And my business partner, Adil Amarsi, is no different.
SO many times on critique calls…
(Which are always line-by-line, he’s not rushing to get through a boatload of people on a plugged-up Zoom session)
He’ll labour over each individual word in a section of copy.
To an A-lister, EVERYTHING must earn its place…
Because they ‘get’ how important the nuances truly are.
One paragraph… one sentence… one word… can make all the difference.
Case in point:
Adil once removed the word ‘learn’ from the copy his client used to run a successful launch…
To have her 10X the revenue the next time she ran it with his changes.
(The original pulled in $45k… with Adil’s tweaks, $450k)
And in case you’re wondering about the word change…
Adil has spent $50k+ over his career putting people through MRI machines…
To see how they react to certain words in marketing.
And the word ‘learn’ almost always had negative subconscious reactions.
(Hence why he took it out)
Anyway….
THAT’S the power of understanding the tiny little details of persuasion… it’s what separates the intermediate copywriters from the advanced ones.
So look…
