You won’t believe what I saw in the gym last night
--
Sometimes, I like to workout at night… around 10pm.
The gym in my building is always empty at that time.
There’s no one hogging anything.
I get the machines to myself.
Plus…
̶I̶ ̶c̶a̶n̶ ̶f̶l̶e̶x̶ ̶i̶n̶ ̶t̶h̶e̶ ̶m̶i̶r̶r̶o̶r̶ ̶a̶s̶ ̶m̶u̶c̶h̶ ̶a̶s̶ ̶I̶ ̶w̶a̶n̶t̶.
It’s just peaceful.
That is… until yesterday.
When my late-night gym utopia was rudely interrupted.
I crap you negative…
This 50-year-old dude waltzed in BLARING music from his phone.
It was so loud I heard it through my OWN headphones, if that tells you anything.
(Granted, it was 10pm… and I think he figured no one would be there… AND he turned it down a few notches after clocking me… but still…)
He then proceeded to go through the WEIRDEST fitness routine I’ve ever seen.
Now look…
I’m NOT one of those judgy people in the gym.
I don’t care what others are doing.
I wanna get in, do my thing, and get out.
But this time…
I just…
I couldn’t help it.
Lemme lay out what this bloke did:
===
#1: bench press
#2: practice golf swing in front of the mirror
#3: kettlebell swings with horrifying form
#4: pull ups
#5: practice golf swing in front of the mirror again
#6: back to bench press, this time with a LOT more weight on the bar
#7: lateral raises with form so bad I contemplated saying something
#8: another few practice swings
#9: some of the most intense skipping I’ve ever seen in my 23 years of existence (seriously it was like this dude was trying to power the Earth using the kinetic energy of his jump rope)
#10: one final time, practice golf swing before leaving
===
Again…
I really DON’T wanna judge…
And who knows maybe this guy is some secret fitness genius and I’m just a moron writing an email about him…
But WTF was that??
Deeply bamboozling…
ANYWAY
Reason I bring this up is not just ‘cos I thought you’d find it funny…
But also to make a point:
People do all sorts of… uh… ‘exotic’ things left to their own devices.
And yes, copywriters are no different…
I see it all the time — similarly wacky routines that make zero sense:
===
#1: random cold outreach to any Tom, Dick, or Harry business that looks cool
#2: waste 2 hours scrolling through copywriting FB groups
#3: see some post from a copywriter who’s CrUsHiNg iT with a client-getting strategy you haven’t yet tried
#4: get FOMO, drop everything, and try it
#5: nothing happens so you’re back to cold outreach
#6: get lucky and land a few clients here and there
#7: spend 3 hours writing one email
#8: somehow end up doom-scrolling through copywriting groups again
#9: see an email from your favourite A-lister promoting their new course
#10: get FOMO again and buy it for absolutely no reason
#11: look at the time and realise it’s midnight, another productive day
===
Okay okay I’m being a d*ck here and massively over-exaggerating haha
BUT you get my point!
And even if you don’t see yourself in the above…
I’m willing to bet you’re doing some pretty wacky stuff yourself…
Look, I get it:
When no one tells you exactly what to do…
Figuring out the correct path forward — and keeping yourself focussed and accountable to get there — can be REAL tough.
But it doesn’t have to be this way.
Sure…
You could eventually put the pieces together yourself.
(Just like I’m sure my gym buddy could eventually figure out a fitness plan that isn’t completely insane)
But if you value your time…
Then you NEED to follow a proven path for building a top 10% copywriting career*.
(*Which is where the Holy Trinity of fun, freedom, and finances all combine…)
Of course…
There are some worthy experts in our industry.
(And some decidedly LESS worthy ones… but I digress)
However where Adil and I differ from the rest can be summed up in 2 bullets:
- A proven process for landing retainer clients with 6, 7, and 8-figure businesses
- A frankly insane amount of support + feedback from an $821m-producing A-lister to help you KEEP those retainer long-term
In other words:
It’s all about those retainers, baby.
(And, ya know, PROPER coaching)
Now look -
I can’t guarantee results.
But I CAN guarantee that you’ll ALWAYS know what to do, every step of the way.
In other words:
No more confusion.
No more “I don’t know WTF to do”s.
No more jumping around from one client-getting strategy to the next.
No more wacky routines.
We got you covered.
Again:
- ONE core process for getting retainers (the Flaming Camel)
- All the support you’ll ever need to KEEP those retainers long-term
From there…
You simply grow your copywriting business by raising your rates.
Simple as that.
Sound good to you?

Alright — I’m off to practice my golf swing ;)
